It’s about time!

I’ve finally got round to doingwhat I’ve said I wanted to do pretty much since
I started the first version of this blog 6 years ago, and that’s writing some
code to release.

So yesterday I posted my .NET wrapper to the
bit.ly API. I’m
hosting it on GitHub as I’ve wanted a chance to use
Git for a while and it’s free so it made a lot of
sense.

I’m going to be posting more stuff there and updating the /code page
here on my site.

New Hosting

For the past few years, I’ve been using a
Bytemark VM to host my sites, but I’ve now begun
the move away from them to Slicehost. I’ve just
successfully moved this blog and this weekend I’ll be moving my other sites.

This isn’t a dig at Bytemark. They’ve been awesome, but Slicehost is that
little bit cheaper and they’re part of Rackspace so I’m expecting big things
support-wise.

Also, they use more “default” images for their VMs (or “slices”) whereas
Bytemark create their own ones and I prefer to do more myself.
